Instructions for editing the resource game. (Modding)

So, as I am often asked how I got to the play of textures, as I edited them and checking them, I decided to write a short statement:

Before discussing the patch, I want to talk about fashions. First, the data that you have access, never intended to hide from the user. 2.Extract and
- Kegetys.dll copy in a folder ... \ Steam \ SteamApps \ common \ il-2 sturmovik cliffs of dover
- In the same folder, open notepad and enter Launcher.exe.config after row

Then create a shortcut to Launcher.exe, open its properties and appends the path to the EXE file option-dump ... I got something like this:


"C: \ Program Files (x86) \ Steam \ steamapps \ common \ il-2 sturmovik cliffs of dover \ Launcher.exe"-dump

Starting the game with this shortcut, start the mission with which we wish to obtain resources, wait until loaded all the textures come out of the game.

In the folder: (in my case)

C: \ Program Files (x86) \ Steam \ steamapps \ common \ il-2 sturmovik cliffs of dover

folder appears _dump resource games.
In particular (for example) the texture of the earth (which is visible when you stand on the ground) are at

C: \ Program Files (x86) \ Steam \ steamapps \ common \ il-2 sturmovik cliffs of dover \ _dump \ $ bob \ textures \ Terrain \ Detail

Others in other places ... looking for .. easy to find.

In order to test the changes you made:

Create another shortcut with the parameter launcher.exe-mod = testmod

I look like this:

"C: \ Program Files (x86) \ Steam \ steamapps \ common \ il-2 sturmovik cliffs of dover \ Launcher.exe"-mod = testmod

In the folder il-2 sturmovik cliffs of dover (where folder _dump) create a folder testmod to copy the files you modified while preserving the hierarchy of the way ..

For example you have changed the file: back_0.bmp, which is here:

'_dump \ $ Core \ gui \ background \ back_0.bmp'

To see it in the game you must copy it to

'Testmod \ $ core \ gui \ background \ back_0.bmp'

And run the game with the last one you created the shortcut ...

3. To edit a file with the textures you'll need Adobe Photoshop and plugin from Nvidia
