Creio que a notícia, por hora, tenha mais a ver com o módulo do F/A-18 para o DCS.

Na verdade isso de "F/A-18 HOTAS" é invenção do povo no forum ED, a esperança deles é um novo grip "F/A-18'ish" para o Warthog, baseado nesse "Add-On":

"With T.A.R.G.E.T software that allows for total interaction between different Thrustmaster USB controllers, with simplified configurations in simulators, and the use of a single preset for all controllers, The HOTAS WARTHOG™ joystick is ready for an enlarged ecosystem including among other development, new Add-On for Joystick."

O anúncio na página da Tm fala em parceria da Tm com a ED no lançamento do (software) F/A-18C da ED/Belsink, mas não fala de (hardware) HOTAS F/A-18. A ED usará o stand da Thrustmaster na E3.

A parceria é interessante para a Tm porque promove o HOTAS Warthog, resta saber se o apelo de marketing do F/A-18C da ED justifica a Tm investir num novo produto (joystick grip), afinal os controles do A-10 tem "tons of buttons" a mais que os controles do F/A-18, então um "HOTAS F/A-18" seria um downgrade do Warthog.

Seria uma boa a Thustmaster não deixar o Warthog fora desse "ecosystem" que eles já fazem a tempos com a linha racer deles. A Thustmaster poderia até investir em um grip pra galera que gosta de space sims, mas pelo o que eu ando vendo esse mercado vem dando uma esfriada.

Mas seria legal pelo menos um stick no padrão do Hornet, eu compraria se mantivesse o padrão do stick do Warthog que convenhamos é muito funcional.

Bom, como não estão usando no DCSW por hora é um só mockup, e bem plasticoso (os ED vão chorar se não for "metal is real). Talvez para sentir o potencial do mercado.

Curioso é que parece ter um "slider" debaixo do HAT do meio, que nos reais não tem, talvez seja modo para aproveitar os 19 botões da base, ao que tudo indica será um grip "ad-on" para a base meaquetreke do TmW.

Os F-18'teiros especulam que o brequete preto debaixo do HAT é um "rotarie" para controlar a elevação de radar... se for é uma solução esperta da Tm, assim evita gastar RD com throttle.

Mas só se for digital (encoder) porque a base do TmW não controla mais que dois eixos (X,Y).

Com o advento de (melhores) bases de terceiros (Baur, VKB, VirPil) compatível com TmW, vender grip avulso será um bom caça níquel.

I cannot say much, but I've been flying our Hornet with the Thrustmaster F/A-18C stick the past few days and even the prototype stick is a joy to fly with. A very sturdy construction, very tactile switches, and great material feel. Playing with this stick really makes you feel like a Hornet pilot.
