"There are 3 addons in the making. (Russo)
Pe-2 addon, that includes all Pe-2 that we have in the current sim with one exception – they all will be flyable! Tons of new ground objects, maps and from what I heard over 100 campaings and missions. But it seems like the new toys (planes and ground objects) are not the MAIN purpose of this addon, even they take the most time to develop. It appears to be leaning towards new campaign/missions experience. Looks like a lot of work was put onto this (campaigns) and it does sound revolutionary if you ask me.
Also, there is IL-10 addon – not sure if it`s final title name, but this is how it sounds translated from Russian. This addon will feature long awaited IL-10 along with several Japanese aircraft. Will also feature a rather large map and of somewhat 50+ campaigns and missions. Can you say Manchuria?
And the last addon… well, it`s an interesting one – looks like it covers “what if” type of thing hehe. Kind of pretending that war between Russia and Germany went past 1945. This addon will feature several jet and rocked engine driven aircraft and will be based probably on maps of Germany which wasn`t covered before, if memory serves me right.
So, this is what is coming to Russian market. It has nothing to do with our addon that Oleg mentioned before (one with a lot of planes ..Mossie, Tempest, Italian birds...etc). Ok? Don`t mix them up. Whether above listed addons will be available for western market or not, I simply don`t know – at least at this point. Time will show I guess."
What is it?
- Three add-ons are planned to be released by 1C:Maddox Games for the russian market before the end of the year.
1. Pe-2 (end 2005)
**Pe-2 flyable, Tons of new ground objects, maps, over 100 campaigns and missions, new campaign/missions experience.**
2. IL-10 in Manchuria (end 2005)
**IL-10 flyable, large map (Manchuria) 50+ campaigns and missions**
3. VVS-46 (end 2005)
**Russian Rockets planes, Map(s) of Germany, What if missions**
Possible plane list:
- USSR:
IL-10
Pe-2 series 1
Pe-2 series 84
Pe-2 series 110
Pe-2 series 359
Pe-3
Pe-3 bis
Yak-3R
La-7R
Bi-1 (new)
Bi-6 (3 engines)
- Japan:
Ki-27ko
Ki-27otsu
Who's making them?
- Luthier's team and 1C:Maddox Games are working on this project after the sucess of two campaigns called "Roads of War" and "Road to Okinawa".
Who will distribute them?
- 1C, the russian distributor, will distribute them for the ex-USSR area.
- Ubisoft, the worldwide distributor excluding ex-USSR, is not interested.
Why Ubisoft is not interested?
- expected sales will not cover the worldwilde distribution cost, great possibility to lose money on this product. (any add-on will sell many times less than the original game (and they are not cheaper), subsequent add-ons sales are less than previous ones, etc.)
So, why is the russian distributor interested?
- The Russian market is not the same (size, interest, costs), expected sales will cover the cost and it will be profitable.
Is Oleg the 1C boss, the publisher for russian market?
- No, Oleg's studio (Maddox Games) is a part of 1C:Multimedia under the holding of IC company. Oleg's got two boss: IC:Multimedia CEO and IC:holding CEO (wilch is the real boss).
Will those add-ons be compatible with worldwide edition?
- Russian 4.02m is the same as us, missions brief will be in Russian and it should work with few tricks (russian rts.dll).
Will it be possible to order it from Russia?
- it shouldn't, but... I guess retailers won't say no, taking into account the shiping cost + change + headache = expensive stuff.
Will it be possible to officialy download it?
- No, it would need expensive structure (server, support, etc.) that 1C:Maddox Games can't provide for that, and, It should not be allowed due to distribution agreement with Ubisoft.
What if I go online with the russian add-ons installed on my system?
- game's version with Ru add-ons should not be compatible with curent worldwide version.
Is there any solution to have those add-ons outside the russian market?
- Oleg, with our support, may try to convince Ubisoft to include them inside the planned FB+AEP+PF DVD, said "platinium" edition for worldwide distribution. (see his post: [URL=http://www.simhq.com/simhq3/sims/boards ... 4;t=001263]
In this case, does it mean I'll have to pay twice for the games I already own?
- No, that means, if you need those add-ons, you'll have to pay a full game price and get, like a bonus, a complete set of the previous releases. If those add-ons alone were distributed by another company - thru an agreement with Ubisoft - they will cost you more than a full game price. If you don't need them, stay with your actual game.
Could the Ju-88A-4, Italian planes, Tempest, Mosquito, etc. be part of this edition?
- Another (one or two?) free add-ons are planned with planes not actually included and that's another subject. Some may be released before this edition, other after... no answer to that question.
Is it possible to ask Oleg to fix any current edition bugs before/in place of this add-ons?
to add/remove planes to this list?
to change any maps/campaign planed?
to add payloads/weapons to current planes?
etc...
- it's always possible to ask, but frankly, it's too late. They have no time to do it. All the staff is involved into completing such projects (as they are defined) and into the next sim developpement. Only critical bugs will be fixed now or stuff that will go into the next sim engine.
Compiled using Oleg/CrazyIvan/SaQSoN's post on Netwings, SimHQ and Ubi forum.
(if something is added/wrong, I'll edit it).
