So "the magician" as we like to call him, or as some may note a food straining device, aptly named Colander, decided that while waiting on his freshly washed clothes to dry, decided that with all the recent TAB 7-1 debate, what better way for realism in finding contacts than to actually be able to climb in to the radar stations and find contacts like the radar operators of old?
And once you get an idea into the magician's head, since there's nothing he can't do with programming, he just decides to create it out of thin air .
A few cold one's later and it's has been incorporated into server 2 for testing.
At this point I must mention that depending on the tests, this might never make it to the main server.
So we are going to be asking for some help in testing out the feature and seeing if it messes with anyone's performance.
To give you an idea, the screen on the right shows all the available radar stations on the map for the side you chose (red/blue).
The screen on the left shows the actual radar with all the knobs and dials you have to turn to hone in on contacts.
I will be updating this from time to time once we have some hard dates set for testing.
And when and IF this goes to the main server, you can bet there will be a handy guide on just how to operate the radar.
One side note, the magician even calculated for curvature of the earth.
So when you find a contact and use the math to locate it, that has already been accounted for.
