Pois é Condor, parece que o Oleg cansou de tentar agradar os chorões de sua base consumidores, e vai encerrar de vez a série IL2,
incluido os dois anunciados Patchs (4.06 e 4.07) num pacote só...

Q: Wich countrys and areas will be included in Manchuria and '46?

A: Only few new ones. For 46 we have the Kiev region (USSR) wich you can use as a backdrop for other action aswell.
Manchuria will utilize 2 maps; Manchuria (China) itself and a special map named
Nomonhan /Khalhin-Gol (Mongolia).
This one was created for both conflicts between Russia and Japan and because we added a lot of japanese planes.
It's a bonus online map, so to speak.

Anyway, both addons have a lot more action going on in the campaigns and the single missions.
The missions will use both the new and old maps.

Q: Will the 46 expansion contain global improvements for the simulation (as it happened with Pacific Fighters) wich will affect not only the new areas but also the early stuff of the russian front or early war in general?

A: There are some changes in the code. Most important is that we redid the code for joystick input; now it feels even a bit better in flight then it did all the time.
This took a major piece of time and was tested by real pilots.
You know that a short PC stick can't give you the same sense of controll as a real, longer one found in real planes can.
So we sat down and created a module that makes the difference feel minimal.

Q: In every patch there were improvements not listed in the readme, on wich players stumbled upon. Wich is your favorite new; or wich will not be noticed by players at first?

A: My personal favorite is the new joystick controll. We have a lot of new weapons in 46 as well; we coded a bunch of new things like german wire guided missiles, soviet hybrid engines
(Piston + Turbojet or Piston + Rocket), also we have 3 different kinds of guns and targeting systems on one plane.
One of the targeting systems on the Ar-234 is a backward firing 20mm cannon with telescope for example.

Q: The Lerche for the 46 addons is the most unique addition ever made to FB.
Were there any problems implementing it into the engine?

A: Yes, there's a very interesting story about the moddeling of this aircraft within the team.
Its the only plane capable of vertical take offs and landings; but I think I'll just show you this bit of the readme concerning this.

Heinkel Lerche III

As a basis we used the Heinkel Lerche II.
However, after modeling it we found some glitches in the design and had to make adjustments to make it combat ready.
If we had modeled it after the original specifications; the plane had never left the ground.

In consequence we have made the following adjustments:

- the connecting areas between airframe and diagonal-profile was restrengthed

- more powerfull engines were fitted

- as a basis for the cockpit detail the Hs-132 prototype was used

- oil and water coolers were fitted into the round wings

- to enable the plane stable starting and landing, gas driven automatical stabelizers were fittet to the airframe

- the shape of the gear and tail were modified ( if we had modelled after the original design the aircraft would have fallen over)

There were some other necesarry adjusments on other russian or german aircraft, but they were mostly detail questions about the cockpit or airframe- no comparsion to those we did on the
Lerche

Q: How many new aircrafts can we expect in the new addons?

A: 1. 6 PE-2 variants
2. 8 flyable and 4 KI
3. all 18 flyable.
