Os Ases do Canal no Eastern Front.
"Jochen" Müncheberg, Galland's protegé in JG 26, arrived to JG 51 on the Eastern Front in August 1942. He was shot down twice in four weeks.
Siegfried Schnell, who achieved 87 victories against the RAF and the USAAF, arrived to JG 54 on the Eastern Front in February 1944; two weeks later he was killed in combat with Soviet fighters.
"Assi" Hahn was shot down by a Soviet La-5, and ended up in captivity three months after he arrived to the Eastern Front; he had previously scored 68 victories against the French Air Force and the RAF.
Oberstleutnant Hannes Trautloft, "Assi" Hahn's Geschwaderkommodore on the Eastern Front, recorded this statement by "Assi" Hahn regarding the quality of the Soviet opposition three months after Hahn's arrival to the Eastern Front:
"Hahn told me that the air combats are not easier, but instead harder than what he previously had experienced. He, who is used to merciless air combats against a skillful enemy over the English Channel, told us that he had to mobilize all his skills to fight enemies who proved to be at least as killful as the Englishmen."
"Those 'Kanaljäger' (Caçadores do Canal) arrived to us and thought that it was an easy game on the Russian Front. Well, they soon learned that this was not the case," said Artur Gärtner of JG 54".

O la-5F não era só motor, mas tinha uma modificações na aerodinâmica que foram fundamentais...

O novo canopi foi nas series sequintes do F, este ai é o 37, só com o novo motor.
La-5 Type 37 with M-82F engine
A entrada em stoll foi retardada.

Além do motor e as modificações aerodinâmicas o la5 ficou mais leve de 160 a 200 kg a depender da fonte de consulta
Já os germanos fizeram o contrário : aumento de poder de fogo descuidando da aerodinâmica e peso. O g-4 marca o inicio da decadência para os bf. O 190 A-5 tem uma ligeira queda de desempenho em relação ao A-3 /A-4 .

BTW - VR sem cockpit interativo (click'ável) vai ser osso de usar - ou então fazem um IL-2 "only 20 keys is enough", assim os VR'ers mapeiam tudo no joystick.

O La-5 está bem melhor agora, mesmo sem o M-82F, não curva muito mas o suficiente e aí vale pelo canhões frontais

Do jeito que está o p-40 não bate com descrição nenhuma inclusive as soviétikas. Não digo que está todo errado ,mas está muito ruim. O que mais me irrita é o motor feito de vidro com as simplórias limitações temporais. Ele foi usado em todos fronts operando muito acima das especificações de manual ( muito boas para tempo de paz) . Quero ver o p-39 como vai ficar com este motor asmático.
