ED is involved in a variety of software products and services which include air combat simulation for the DCS World commercial entertainment market. We have over 200,000 active users and over two million product downloads. This provides TBS several distinct benefits:
Software compatible over a wide array of hardware configurations
Robust stability using large missions and number of players over a network
Next generation graphics and effects
Massive user base that also acts as a test function for TBS
Intuitive user interface that requires little instruction
In addition to the Eagle Dynamic's development staff, TBS also benefits from our partner companies that not only create new simulation content for DCS World/TBS, but they also contribute new technologies, research, and procedures to the larger program.

Some partner aircraft projects for DCS World/TBS include:

MiG-21Bis
Mirage 2000C
SA342 Gazelle
BAE Hawk
C-101
UH-1H
Mi-8MTV2
F-5E

New theaters in development: Syria, Crimea, and Afghanistan.

Using our partnerships, it is our priority to build a broad array of aircraft systems and terrains, to the point of modeling the entire globe.

The stable of helicopters for DCS World continues to grow, and we have some great new helicopters in development like the Mi-24 and Bo-105.

"I'm not defending ED but this has been beat to death so much I'll just repeat what's already been stated by them.
The reason that ED continues to work on 1.5 is because of the free Caucuses map.
It's been speculated that 2.0 is really just what 2.5 will be once the Caucuses map is upgraded.
So 2.5 will just be the new Caucuses map rolled into the current 2.0 along with NTTR and other payware maps.
Development has to continue on 1.5 because the 3rd party developers and ED support all of the modules in that World with the free map.
And there are still a lot of people out there that haven't or won't pay for NTTR and only use the free map.
They have stated that the Caucuses map will still be free even though it's being turned into a high resolution version.

1.5 e 1.5 beta.
2.0 e 2.0 beta.
